Price of minnows?

Post by MarkM »

Just wondering what everyone is paying for minnows these days? I picked up 2 dozen Dace for 10 bucks per dozen. Sounded darn high. Would have preferred shiners but they didn’t offer it. Was also told they had sucker minnows for 15 bucks per dozen. Whaaaaaaaat????

Where’s the shiners?? Are they tougher to find?

That's a crazy price for Dace. You should check with Serge's Live bait. He sells from home so long as he has extra minnows after his deliveries. Check the banner at the top.

I've seen $10 a dozen for mediums at two places. Baitcasters had shiners last time I was there a couple weeks ago.

I bought 2 dozon Dace medium minnows at Baitcasters last weekend for 8$ per dozen. I believe the Shiners are a little more expensive.

Well maybe it's ballpark average. Makes me feel a bit better but it's still a lot of coin. I try to support the local guys and usually buy a bit of tackle while there. But don't put the boots me...

Al's Corner store near Arnprior is selling his medium sized minnows for $1 a piece. I got 5 dozen and it cost me $60. I should have just bought some fish from the grocery store.

I'm paying $9 for a dozen. Not the cheapest but the most expensive either I suppose.
