No more hard water fishing! :)

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

No more hard water fishing! :)

Post by kingofbeasts »

I don't know if it is just a coincidence or not but, as soon as I started work on my new rod, temperature started to rise as well. So , since yesterday I finished "The Sniper" , today I took it out on the banks looking for a spot to cast a few times with it. I did not have high hopes for catching anything but I really wanted to see how it feels and test it's sensitivity . To my, surprise, when I was least expecting it, a small pike decided to baptize and bless my new rod (and reel for that matter :) ) and as a result I just photographed my first fish for 2019 season . Here it is:

I gently sent it back to her mama and went home smiling.

That's awesome! At first glance I thought that you were ice fishing with a long rod.

I do not enjoy ice fishing as much and I guess will be a real torture to do it with a long rod :) To be honest, I was not expecting any bite since I was actually just testing the new rod in what I will call a “summer spot” (at the edge of a rapid ). It was a nice and pleasant surprise, I give you that.
