Any 2019 Stocked lakes Near Calabogie?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Any 2019 Stocked lakes Near Calabogie?

Post by mmainvi »

Hi...I'll be at the Calabogie Lodge next week Sept.23-27. Me and my son are planning to do some shore fishing. The MNR reports only show that the nearby lakes were stocked in 2018. Would you know if this report is uptodate? We're any area shoreline accessible lakes stocked this year? Also, any good shoreline spots for bass fishing on Calabogie lake?...Thanks...Marc

It's still too early for them to have updated the stocking lists, besides this year's fish would be too small anyway.
Limestone lake isn't far away but it depends on what you're driving and the road conditions as to how close you can get. If you go to the northwest corner of the lake where the old camp is there is good shore fishing there off the rocks. It gets deep pretty fast there. Rainbows are well stocked there each year and there is a decent bass population as well.
Again depending on what you drive you could cross at Barrett Chute you could get on the Barry lake road and access several lakes along there like Barry, Belanger and Battery lake in particular is quite well stocked if the trail off the main road is in decent shape. You can see it on google earth.

There is no crossing at Barrett Chute.
Has not been a crossing there for close to 20 years.
Hydro opened the dam and a mother and her son were washed down the cliffs and killed and the whole area was fenced off.
From Limestone you need to drive around the lake to get to Barry Lake Trail.
