Quinte PIG

Quinte PIG

Post by RJ »

Birdee and I have been travelling a bunch this winter so it certainly put a dent in my ice trips but last weekend I bumped into this big lady.

Video of the catch is on my vlog on Youtube, can be seen at this link.

I'm not a numbers guy so I don't carry a scale or tape as I don't really care about that anymore. I've seen a couple 14s over the years, this girl was North of 15 for sure.

Great fish !
I fished in the long narrows area this year and the ice like you said was not great. We only had 3'' of ice for a short window in Feb when I was there. I found the fish to be deeper this year ,at least the bigger fish we caught in the double digits...did you find it was the same where you were? We caught a couple double digits but we were in over 25 ft of water jigging on bottom. Normally I target them in the 18ft....Again congrats on your fish!

Thanks. I won't bother going to Quinte unless I know I can fish the areas I want to fish are safe. They are all over 25 feet of water with current. Some years it doesn't happen.

You got that right...this year we only had a 3-4day window around family day weekend and on Tuesday it was back to open water. Thanks!

That's two years in a row that a 15plus has come from the same general area.

Nice fish
