Lake trout - Big Rideau or Charleston

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Lake trout - Big Rideau or Charleston

Post by bsc2000 »

Hey folks just curious if anyone has had luck jogging on either big Rideau or Charleston. I went out about a week ago at Charleston and only marked like 5……they gotta be somewhere I’m not looking. Are they still shallow?

Any tips would be awesome!

Thanks

I have not been on Charleston this year, but I fished Big Rideau just after opening, we were catching and marking most of our fish then in 80 to 120 feet of water, we were trolling. That day I would say there were 20 boats plus jigging humping in 50 to 70 feet of water, not sure how the catching was. I fished another area lake jigging a little over a week ago and we were marking and catching in 60 to 100 feet of water.

I know guys have been catching in Charleston, but trolling deep, not sure about jigging.

With this heat things will be warming up, so I would except they will be moving deeper.

RJ showed me last year how to do it and we never got skunked after that....but the fish didnt get the note that they are supposed to stay in one place.

Ill get out and report back.
