Ottawa River - Crappie and Sauger

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Ottawa River - Crappie and Sauger

Post by Fisherman89 »

I've recently moved to the Orleans area and have started trying my luck on the Ottawa. I got out for a few hours yesterday evening to target Walleye, but ended up with a couple Crappie and Sauger instead. I had to head in early due to the wind picking up (I need to get a proper boat, so I can stay on the water when the chop picks up, that's when the fishing gets good!), but all in all it was a good couple hours on the water.

The first crappie (not on video) was caught while trolling (bottom bouncing a spinner rig with a Northland Rig'n Leech). After that I switched to casting an 1/8oz jig with a Rig'n Leech.
