North Shore Lake Ontario Kings Mid August Report

Post by Lil’Fisherman »

Cooler nights are a sign that it’s time of year again, big mature kings staging shallow around the river mouths. Fishing is going to get red hot in the next few weeks! Caught a few nice ones shallow last weekend (August14-15) here are some pictures of our weekend on the big water!!

Wtg, all I can say is Wow, I assume they put up quite the battle. Just curious as to what size are good for keeping for the table or the smoker?

Smitty55 we like to keep them around 15lbs and smaller. Easier to clean & they are great tablefare, Bbq’d or smoked! Not to say the big ones are no good, we keep lots of them for the smoker as sometimes they don’t swim away from the big fight they put up!
