Mississippi River

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Mississippi River

Post by Bear »

I know if I posted this on 613 ice fishing it would likely be deleted  , has anyone ice fished below the dam at Appleton, seen the odd pop up out there over the years but have never ventured out my self. Guessing several pannies including perch. Nice and close to home and might be a bit more interesting than the main lake

Can't help you out with Appleton but it does seem like naturally it would be a good area to try. Looking at the map I'd be tempted to try out that inside corner where it narrows down at the bend.
As for 613 I can't say I disagree with their policy in outing spots at all. With 7.7K members if good spots get outed it wouldn't take long for them to get ruined, specially in smaller back lakes but also honey holes on larger water bodies.
