Old fishing line

Old fishing line

Hi have some fishing line it must be some years old but in a bag out of the sun would it still be OK to use or does it have a shelf life like most things cheers

Tie an overhand knot in it and pull on the two ends. If the knot breaks easier than expected, get rid of the line. As line deteriorates, it becomes brittle. and loses its knot strength. On a straight pull it's fine, but against a knot it breaks if it's no good.
