North bay shore fishing

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

North bay shore fishing

Post by Cap535 »

Recently moved back to the bay. I’m looking for some decent shore fishing spots,I don’t mind driving 45min or so for them or going a bit off the beaten path. Wondering if any can share a couple spots! I appreciate any and all help!
Thanks!!

Back in the early 70's, my uncle lived in North Bay at the south end of town. My family would often drive up from Toronto on the weekend to visit. My cousin and I would ride our bikes to Champlain Park and fish the mouth of the La Vase River. We would catch pike, bass, perch and catfish. In spring, (or even summer at dusk) we would get walleye.

It's been many years since I've been there...not even sure what's there now (a subdivision??)...but it may be worth trying. There always seemed to be something biting.
