Fishing 2022... the year of highs and lows...

Well 2021 was probably be best year fishing in my life, 2022 on the other hand was interesting to put it one way. lol

The year started off great with ice fishing and early spring lake trout and salmon action.

This fall I had high hopes for Quinte walleye and Lake Ontario lake trout, but my fall season started slow, finally we caught a little Quinte gold!!

But the new boat was a magnet for back luck this Fall... hitting a deer in November and then my truck and boat getting into an accident in December to end my 2022 fishing season... thankfully no other vehicles involved and no injuries.... searching to buy a "new" used truck and the boat is in the shop for a few repairs to get it ready for 2023.

I'm glad your new boat wasn't too badly damaged. But it sucks looking for trucks right now with the shortage of everything. I found myself a new Tacoma at the end of February and only got the cap on it in May before it was stolen out of my driveway in June. I had to go down to Hawkesbury Toyota in July to find a replacement and ordered a new cap in August to only have it installed just before Christmas. At least I don't have to shovel snow out of the back this winter and I can lock my icefishing gear up. We were struck by a deer coming home from White lake two years ago. It ran into the side of our car while towing the boat, fortunately somehow missing the wheel of the boat trailer. It still messed up the doors and paneling on the side of the car.

Those were some nice fish, I can't imagine being up close to a big sturgeon like that. May your 2023 fishing be exciting and everything else run smooth!
