Golden Lake fishing

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Golden Lake fishing

Post by badginger »

Hi everyone,
Going to a cottage in Golden lake around mid-august. Red dot is where the cottage is approxi. (attachment..)
We are looking to fish pike + bass. :D :D
I'm a bit scared the waters near the cottage might be too shallow? Will there still be fish around that area... we will only have kayak and paddleboat...

fish newbie so i'm thankful for any advice. Thanks all!!

If there is cover (Pads, milfoil, logs etc) there should be largemouth in fron of your cottage. never fished that lake so I don't know if there is a largemouth population. I know there are smallies though.

I know where I'd be headed to for sure. That's a beauty hump that comes up from 40ft to close to the surface just to the right of your yellow circle. Navionics actually shows a rock hazard.
