GPS for Lake Newboro in Ontario?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

GPS for Lake Newboro in Ontario?

Post by Aceydink »

Coming to Ontario in September. First time. Does GPS work on the lake? Any advice to not get lost while boating? Any suggestions for apps that work?

Newboro Lake is part of the Rideau lake system, so it is a navigable waterway, so detailed electronic and paper maps are available, as well the lake is marked with various marker bouys, in particular the red and green bouys to mark the main boating channels on the lake.

You can check out the lake on the Navionics WebApp...

Yes GPS will work on the lake.

You can also check out the Fish ON-line website for more info on fish species are regulations for the lake.

Also use the search function on this page to search old posts.

Good lake for bass fishing.

Here is the old "Fish-Hawk" map showing some general fish areas on the lake from years past.
