Roro spool ?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Roro spool ?

Post by drewdavis »

All I have what appears to be an early version Roro CB26 with no ball bearings in spool shaft end. Has anyone compared one of these with the same spool that includes the BB ends?

No information readily available online compares the early Roro CB26 spools without ball bearings to the later versions with ball bearings in the spool shaft end. However, I can offer some insights and ways to find out more:

Possible Reasons for Ball Bearing Addition:

Reduced friction: The ball bearing likely reduces friction between the spool shaft and the spool body, which could potentially improve casting performance.
Smoother operation: The bearing might contribute to a smoother overall feel during casting and retrieving.
Accommodate lighter components: The bearing might have been introduced to handle lighter spool weights or materials used in later versions.
