Just curious if you all, or none of you have waterproof VHF radios?

I do and as far as I’m concerned it’s an asset.

honestly WIG never thought about it, don't know if mine is or isn't. It is down below with most of the electronics, when I looked at GPS units I went waterproof, wanted it up top with me so it was going to get wet. Most of the guys seem to fish in open boats so I would think waterproof radios are the way to go, or is there a way to protect them?

OK so now I'm working on a radio thanks to Wallyandre. Supposedly waterproof and the type that scans all channels.
My next question is, how much should an antenna cost me and where do I find one?

I think an 8 foot antena runs about $80 WIG. Then you'll need the mounting bracket, I think they're around $20.
Do you have a boat lined up? Did I miss that? Or are you just getting ready to pimp up you new ride?

The scanning is great to have...also most models are water proof...but you can't use it 100ft under water
so splash and rain proof is a better term.
