Boat launch around Becketts Landing?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Boat launch around Becketts Landing?

Post by devy »

Looking at going fishing on the Rideau this weekend. Are the only boat launches nearBecketts landing at Kars? Is the provincial park at Kempville still accessible.?
Thanks

There's a small launch on the north side of the river, about 1 km west of the boat yard. It's at the end of the first road you will come to on the left heading west on the road to Burritt's Rapids.

I've never used it and it looks like it is only accessable to smaller boats.

Thanks for the info.
I have a 14 footer so I should be fine.
Is it located then just past where county road 44 crosses the rideau?
Thanks!

The Launch Rideau is talking about is the one I use when I Fish the rideau. It is at the end of Malakoff (sp) RD It's just past the boat yard, and the launch is good to get smaller boats (16ft and under) in, and out. It's at the end of the road, it has a muddy bottom so don't back the car into the water.

There is another launch that is well kept just off 44 about 1 mile south of Dillworth as well. If heading North on 44 you come to a long bend at the end of the bend there is a right hand turn lane, take it turn right and then right again and your there. It's a 5 minute boat ride to becketts but you wont get stuck.

The launch you're talking about is Reeve Craig just down river from the Kemptville Flats and just up river from Hwy 416 bridges.
Great fishing areas.

I was out today on the Rideau and there was a lot of ice in back bays and at teh boat launches. I am trying to find out if Craig Reevesis iced up or not? Taylor Park was solid this morning.
