Just back from cayo guillermo ,Cuba..
went fishing with cuban fishing guide on sand flats off national park
near hotel/many cowfish(sort of bass type fight) in shallow water on foot,
also had few hits on shrimp(fromhotel kitchin )by barraucda,,
spectacular bird life and scenery on ocean sand flats/
some guests went tarpon fishing at dusk off bridge with same guide
and had good luck with several fish but all lines snapped, fish estimated
at 75 lbsplus
guide charged 80usd for 4 hrs/ based at cayo guillermo but is accessible
at most resorts in cayo coco/cayo gullermo Cuba

I've been too flyer...I love Cuba! Did ya get a picture of any of those cowfish?

took pictures but not with digital>>if you e mail me your address I;ll send you a copy in the mail*cowfish are a very blunt squared off fish that average
2 or3 lbs , fight well and are found in shallow water so you don't need a
boat
Cuba was great and the people some of the most gracious I;ve
come across in the carribbean<<
the US embargo hurts but they make do and the streets are full
of well preserved and renovated 1950 etc dodges and chevs!
