You are right that a 5500 might be better than a LP Chronarch with a huge fish, mainly because of the greater line capacity, but either way you're using the wrong equipment.

Yet your favorite is a Chonarch?...

Thanks for all the info everyone. Well I knew that most people like to use heavier gear for the muskies, but I was just looking for something I could use the odd time for casting a big musky lure. I probably wouldn't use it too much for trolling. I would mostly want to use it for casting big pike lures and bigger crank baits.
