The Fishing Map Project comes alive in Hawk Talk. This project features various bodies of water in the province of Ontario, which can be downloaded here, and used to find some potential honey holes.
Hi,
Next weekend I am going camping to Sandy Beach Resort, just South of Balsam lake Marina.
I know bass is not opened yet so looking for walleye and crappies. Should I try L-O 4&5?
Any advice?
Thanks a lot!
not sure have to look for them then once u find them stay... when i was there we drifted that whole srip out to the big island and back up by the park beach
We did our spring trip on Rice and looking to hit Balsam for our fall trip. From reading this and other fishing boards it sounds like it is a great multi-species lake. Most likely target bass and walleye, but from what I have read it looks like it is a big time muskie lake as well. Also I hear there are pike in there now. Anyway on to my questions:
How does it compare to Rice for bass and walleye?
Is the make up of the lake similar to Rice? i.e shallow and weedy as hell
On an average day does the lake get choppy or is it fairly calm?
