Yaking on The Rideau

Post by Salar »

For those who don't know, I'm back in the Ottawa area for the time being.

Today Gwright and I headed out with the kayaks on the Rideau for some pike & walleye on the fly. We worked a number of current lines and weedy shallow bays but couldn't stir up any action. The weather made up for the lack of fish. It's nice to be out on the water again.

The current was surprisingly strong and unpredictable. The yaks preformed flawlessly. I had one less than graceful boat entry but that was my own fault (sorry no pictures or video )

Jacques and I were going to hit the water tonight with the kayaks, but the wind gusting to 20kts just didn't make it appealing to either one of us., Good to have you back in town- now I actually have to find time to go out fishing with you!

Tight lines,

Jean

Yes, for sure. We'll get out fishing soon. If it hadn't been for mothers day last weekend, I would have made it out.

Cheers,
