The determination of my Bro MooseBunk to land a shlamo on his fly rod was rewarded with this one, AND HE GOT IT IN ON A 6WT!!!!!! :shock:

I didn't see this until now. Thanks Bro. You know we would have fished past closure that night until I got one. :D

6wt is perfectly capable of catching these fish I think, but, the longer fight seemed to always leave more chance for the fish to break off, or take a longer run and get away. Regardless, that my only rod and my Battenkill, worked well for at least one fish. :D They certainly don't come easy on the 6wt.

Awesome.

You guys are killing me with these awesome fish on fly rods. haven't been out on a river in a while.

Hey Float, any chance you'd take me to a few spots where i could cast a few flies for these brutes? I'm too chicken to blindly wade into the river systems down there when i hear how crowded they are. would like to learn the etiquette from someone who does it right. I've got a 6 wt, an 8 wt and a 9 wt. probably would bring the 8wt. are there many opportunities for that this time of year?
just a thought.
