If you're up the valley, I would see what the guys in the Algonkin Fly Fishers Club have to offer.

KB,

You have several options for learning. Todd B mentioned the Algonkian Flyfishers Club. There's also the Ottawa Flyfishers Society.

You can register for a full day of lessons through the Green Drake Oufitters, although there's a $100 cost involved. It's a pretty good course that will give you an overview on almost everything. I think that Float, Paddle, and Fly offer the same service. Both companies are really knowledgeable and very helpful.

Also, Todd B organizes his weekly summer fishing program at locations around Ottawa. It's very informal, but the guys are great and they'd love to bring you over to the Dark Side.

In my opinion, you haven't really caught a bass until you've done it on the flyrod. Totally different experience and waaaayyyyy cool!

Good luck!!
Time's fun when you're having flies.
