Post by Climber2k »

Just wanted to give Greg a big thanks for lending me a piece of his rod while mine got repaired under warranty, and also for all the great advice I've gotten there over the past 9 months or so.
Thx!! :) :D

Yep a great store.

I waited for Foat, Paddle and Fly to open their doors after another store in town turned up its nose at me like I did not have the money to be in their store.
Bought a new Sage rod and reel there and now will only buy my fly gear from Greg.

Greg and Paul are amazing guys - they provide excellent advice, enjoy taking the time to discuss any aspect of fishing with you without any pressure to purchase anything and are truly dedicated to the sport. Float, Paddle and Fly is my go-to place in Eastern Ontario.

I'm not putting down any other flyfishing store(s) in town, they were very patient and usefull in advising me on my interest towards getting into Fly Tying. The wife had the last decision on what I had proposed to her among various vises, and she kind of steered me towards what I had as a choice meeting my needs. She was (is) also very supportive these days in me taking on a hobby that will put my worries aside. I beleive fly tying (being creative) could accomplish that.

I settled today on an HMH Spartan vise (although I was also considering the Standard model). Both Greg and Paul guided me in my opnions and decisions.

Now to do my homework and figure what flies I would like to tackle and determine the fly tying material that's going to be needed.
