An interesting Idea but a bit behind the times.

www.tenkarabum.com
has economical kits - they are in the USA and ship to Canada. Shipping is very cheap because everything is so small.
If you like creek fishing it's easily the best and most fun way to do it. Dapping for sun-fish is also very fun.

Bump - anyone get out yet on the little streams that flow into the Mississippi River (mostly closed at moment) my daughter and I went out for a hike along the Indian River and got a few small rock bass one pumpkin seed - water is pretty high but not insane levels. I think the farmers are going to be hurting if the peak has already hit.

A new online store has opened to supply Tenkara Equipment.

www.tenkaraoutfitters.ca

As a starter kit, they recommend the following.

Dragontail Tatsu360 Rod and aluminum tube.
Spare replacement tip for the rod (incase you break the original)
12.5' Dupuy Furled Line
50 meter Spool of Flurocarbon tippet (4x)
10 Traditional Kebari Flies
6 Foam spools for line management
10 2.5mm Tippet rings

Total cost for this setup is $166.74 - 15%(grand opening sale, expires April 15th) = $141.73 + Shipping

I am going to give it a try.

Cheers

Off topic but, a little reminder Michael, just in case. The Miss is closed to all fishing from Almonte to Pakenham until May 8.

Thanks Smitty, that's why I specified the "little streams" that flow into the Mississippi River (mostly closed at moment)

some of the ones that are open are the "Indian River" lol - it's about 3' wide and even at highest flow maybe 9' across and 3' deep,

Indian creek - well you'll get your boots wet but don't even think of anything that floats, in the summer it's a series of pools just barely kept wet.
