Scott SV908 3pc

Post by K1LOS »

Hi everyone,

I'm a beginner fly fisherman and had a Scott SV908 fall into my lap. Can anybody give me an idea as to the value of this rod, type of action it has, and species it would be appropriate for?

I ask value not because I intend to sell it, but because its tip is broken off and I need to decide if I should order a replacement piece or just add a new tip to its "stump".

Recommendations on a reel to pair with it would be appreciated too.

Thanks for any help!

Value-wise it's a tough call. A quick search came up with values from $125 - $350 US. Checking the Scott website, it would seem as though you have a discontinued model. I would simply give them a should to see if they even have a replacement section you could purchase. If a replacement section is outside of your price range or they do not have one, you're basically left with simply adding a new tip top at the break point.

Thanks for the response Todd.

I did try searching for info, but I wasn't able to find information on this particular model. With the figures you found, it seems like it would be worth getting a replacement piece (if I can) instead of just adding a new eyelet on the stub.
