south of the border

I've had my fun with the crappie and got the casting arm in shape. I'm planning to head over to NY next week and try for trout. I'm thinking of trying the St Regis or Salmon rivers south of Malone. Does anyone have experience, tips or advise they can offer on that area.

Mission acomplished but thats all. I actually caught a Brown Trout [10- 12 in.] on the fly, along with a half dozen small Brookies. I've got miles to go to with tactics and technique. I'll take my hat off to the upstaters for making the most of the rivers they have, with stocking, public fishing access, and catch and release areas.

Brookies on a size 12 bead head GRHE under an indicator
The St Regis was a bit intimedating with high flow.
The Salmon in the upper reaches was more my size.
