Fishing the Credit

Post by Grouch »

After years of going up to the Sault for fall Salmon fishing on the fly my buddy and I are looking for a new to us fall fishing location. He suggested the Credit River and I've seen some old postings of good fishing on the river all at least 5 years old and fishing in Mississauga doesn't sound "right" to me. I'm not interested in the Port Hope shoulder to shoulder style. Has anyone tried to fish the Credit and how successful were you. I'm not asking for any state secrets just a fair impression of the fishing. My first thought was to go to Pulaskie NY, it's an hour closer and a known quantity as far as the fishing goes, I will point out that no matter where we go it's strictly catch and release.

The fishing on the Credit is just good as on the Ganny and can be just as crowded. It's all about hitting the the run at the right time and on a weekday, rather than a weekend.
