winterizing motor

Post by xcal »

Am winterizing my outboard motor myself for the first time. It is a 90hp 4stroke Merc. Have changed the oil in lower unit and motor as well as greasing all fittings. I am not sure if I should be fogging the engine. In the manual by Mercury it does not mention anything about this in the chapter about winterizing and storing, yet most dealers that winterize say that it is necessary. I have put fuel stabilizer in the tank and have run it throught the motor as well. Should this be enough or do you think fogging is necessary.
Thanks:
