OLD MERC

Post by Viking »

My uncle has an old 7.5hp long shaft. He thinks its a late 60's vintage. On the upper area of the shaft their is a couple of ports. One is marked"flush". He wants to know what these ports are and what they are to be flushed with. Any Idea? Thanks Mike

That round port that says "flush" is to flush out salt water from the engine after use in salt water, it requires a special adapter for a garden hose, and it should have a plug in it. The other ports on the back are exhaust relief ports
