Fisher Dude:
I just used the handles on back corners of boat. Bought one of those pulley type attachments that just clipped on to handles. Was used for 7-8 years with no damage that I could see. Never had to tighten handles. When my son was big enough to almost stall motor when whipping from side to side it was time to move to something bigger. He weighed about 100 lbs at that time. I don't think I ever was able to travel more than 18-20 mph but that was enough for them. Plus that was fast enough when my wife was spotting the kids !
