Sea Nymph Boats
Sea Nymph Boats
Anyone owned Sea Nymph boat before? I am told it's solid boat.
It's no longer manufactured.
Is it sold to (Lowe)??

I have two Sea Nymphs. A Lowe branded FM 175S and an OMC (I think...) branded 14R. I'm guessing that you are looking at a pre-Lowe model and I can report that my 14R is solid and I have no complaints about it. I have a Suzuki 15 4 stroke on it.
I bought the 14R from a cottage neighbour and he also had a much older Lund 14. The Lund is quite a bit heavier than the Sea Nymph, but it is also a wider boat. I would guess that the Lund has thicker and probably more durable aluminum but the Sea Nymph is not underbuilt in any sense of the word. Mine has been banged off of docks a few times and I haven't noticed any dents from the rough handling.
A couple of generously sized friends who used the boat for a weekend last year were impressed by it and thought it rode well through chop and wake.

I have an older 14 footer, don't ask me how old I have no idea. The area where the seat brackets go to the seat are cracked and breaking. I've only owned the boat for the past few years and have no idea how it may have been treated in the past. I "stole" the boat, motor and trailer for 500 bux. (family deal)
I live near Perth, so I'm gonna to take it into Bell's sooner or later to get welded. I wish it was a little deeper also.
Other than that I like it...it's my first boat though.

I forgot to mention in my first post that I tracked down a guy in the States who put a flat floor and a front casting deck in his 14R. He emailed me the dimensions and details and photos for all of the bits. If anyone has a 14R and wants to see what can be done with it, shoot me a PM. The 14R is a model that is fairly deep and the width of the boat tapers to be a bit narrower at the back than it is at the middle. It is shaped like the current Lowe Angler 1467 Utility V but has a 3 bench seating arrangment.rickr wrote:Thx guys. I appreciate.
