Custom Boat Covers

Post by chill »

Good Day folks

Its seems the current trailering cover for my boat is on its last legs. Does anyone have any recommendations on who does custom fitted covers covers in the ottawa area, preferrable the east end?

Much appreciated.

Chris at labarberupholstery.com modified my factory cover to accommodate a bow mount trolling motor and gas kicker last year.

I was very pleased with his work and price was good too.

A buddy of mine is having a custom cover made by T&L upholstery out in Metcalfe. Knowing my buddy, he won't go anywhere that the work is questionable so I would check them out.

I have had at least a dozen custom covers created by Denis Gauthier at Multi-Toiles DG. He's a true craftsman and is extremely reasonable. He is also the exclusive cover maker for Orleans Boat World. He often works remotely from their location in Orleans. I can't say enough good things about his work.

It cost nothing to call,

Paul, do you know if Denis also does vinyl repair?

Just had a custom top done for my brothers boat by Denis. He is suppose to be dropping it off today. Will post some pictures this evening when the boats back home.

Check out The Boat Top Shop in Hawkesbury. I got a great top for the Lund and avoided the big city prices.

So? Did he do a good job? Where's he located? Price?

Sorry I missed this one. Admittedly I am not sure. I am making the assumption that you are talking about boat seat repair?

Chris at LA Barber just did a cover for my Lund better than Lund did a cover for my Lund. Great price, quick service, awesome work and get this... 6 year warranty on all stitch work, 10 year warranty on the material. It's like the dood read my mind. 25 years in business doing much of his work through the Marina at Brittania. When I dropped the boat at their place I wouldn't have thought they'd do it up this well, but another long-time satisfied customer in their driveway couldn't help but rave about their work. Very happy in the end.

The top was exactly what my brother asked for. The rear ratchet straps are a blessing and the trolling motor fits like a glove. The bow section of the cover is also reinforced. Snaps were really snug, but have been told this will loosen up a bit over time. Not only can I see this top holding up for a while, but it looks great too. Lots of fine detail that certainly exceeded both our expectations :D

I don't even own a boat - but I must say that I love good craftsmen and the work they do.

Second to none!
