East-end boat launch locations

Post by campnfish »

Hello all,

Can someone recommend a free launch on the Ottawa River near Orleans? I have to water-test 2 engines tonight and was looking for somewhere out of the wind / current that I could launch my boat and then come back and switch engines.

I've used the one at the end of Blair road, but it launches right into the main channel and the current tends to take the boat before I'm ready lol.

Cheers,

What size of boat do you have? It's pretty soft ground there and with heavy rains and a steep hill it washes away....

I know you said you wanted somewhere free but the small boat launch at Oziles (Petrie Isl) has what you want minus the free part :)

Depending on where you are and how far the other launches are the cost might be worth it (gas+time vs launch fee) I keep my boat there for the season but I think the fee for one time use of the small launch is $8.

I got stuck there last year and I have a small boat... Its also where I realized my 4wd was not working :? A man walked up to and said he sees a lot of tow trucks there...

Not to High jack the thread but I'm curious as to how much it costs you to leave your boat there ? PM me if you'd rather keep this quite, just curious.

Thanks.
