Fuel School - Phase Separation

Post by smitty55 »

Came across this article recently and thought it was worth sharing. With some marine engines now recommending regular fuel I think it's a good idea to be aware of the potential troubles dealing with E-fuel, and specially with 2-strokes if someone wants to cheap out on regular gas. Also apllies to all small engines

It is pretty crazy what can happen if using ethenol blended fuels. I have always run 91 octane in anything that doesn't get run every day for this specific reason.

So far, I have not had any issues and I hope by running 91 (most stations do not have ethonol in high test. At least the ones that I use don't) I won't have any in the future.

Most stations DO have ethanol in their high test with the exception of the ones listed here,
