The new RIG *Warning Picture HEAVY!!
Ladies/Gents, it's HERE!!
A little background:
I'm Shawn and well to put it simply it all started throwing jitterbugs around docks one very early morning and the rest is history...
I've owned a few boats, I started from shore like most of us and made steps from there..
#1 My 13' Vhull, modified and its the god awful trailer...
Life was good until a very windy Mississippi Lake, we almost went into the drink twice and I swore I'd NEVER get tossed around like that again...
#2 I had very little money so I bought what I could afford and let me tell you!!! KEEP YOUR MONEY AND BUY SOMETHING BETTER!!!
If you want to see more about that click the following link... It's not pretty..

#3 My 1986 Cajun,
I put TONS of work into ...it can be seen here:
http://www.bbcboards.net/cajun-boats/32 ... cajun.html
I went to both the Ranger and the Phoenix dealer and priced both boats the same with all the options I wanted.
They both make quality boats and have great customer service (I have several buddies with Rangers) I got a better price from Phoenix.
Well when I test drove the 618 with a Mercury 4 stroke 150hp, it got on plane quickly, noticed it really doesn't take much trim to have the boat at the desired ride height, the ride was smooth, couldn't feel the chop at all.. Going down the narrow Rideau River we jumped a few wakes, from deeper hulled cruise boat, what surprised me was the re-entrance, the landing, impact, whatever you want to call it... It was smooth!
I already knew Phoenix had that ride quality but I rode in a 719 so I figured smaller boat rougher ride.. Not the case!!
Now almost all bass boats these days have some sort of a V shape up front but what's nice about the Phoenix boat is the diamond shape hull, it's built in a way that the hull has that cutting edge the entire length of the hull.
Really isn't an easy decision but in the end Phoenix makes a quality product that has a lot of equipment that comes standard and not to mention you get to pick your colors for FREE!!
SO I designed it:
They built it: (Pictures from the factory)
Yesterday I got to see it for the first time at Pirate cove Marina.
Pirate Cove Marina did an awesome job!
They have a great sales staff, absolutely no BS and they took the time to answer every question I had (Most of which, for me, wasn't about the actual boat but everything related to the actual purchase)
Taking the cover off the first time was an experience I'll never forget, I worked hard to get this and I'm very very proud and it's why I'm sharing it with you all.
Cheers!

Congrats Shawn.
This is one sweat looking ride!!!! I'm sure the pictures don't do justice. This year you can spend more time fishing and no time messing around fixing things on the boat. I can't wait to see this boat in person

Congrats Shawn - that is one nice looking bird! Having purchased my Phoenix at Pirate Cove in 2013 I concur with your messages above too. Great staff and amazing boats. I haven't regretted my decision for a minute. I'm looking forward to seeing you out on the water this year.

She's a beauty Shawn. Save your next fixer-upper for when you're retired and fishing time is less precious.
Congrats and I am sure the 5lbers will be flocking to your boat!

Re: The new RIG *Warning Picture HEAVY!!
I have to be honest Shawn,
When you first texted me the pic of your screenshot of that color combo while in the designing phase, I thought it was too bland. Black on Black... Really???
Then, you sent me the pictures last night (Some 6 months later) and my mind changed pretty damn quickly. The subtle difference in black on the monitor turned into a great contrast of the two shades.
I'm happy for you buddy.
When you sent us the pics last night, I showed Erin and all she said was, " NO!!! stop showing me pics of boats you want!!!". Then I told her it was yours and well, you know the answer she gave me...
Congrats Buddy! I do believe you deserve it!
Now, If I can some how rig it so I pull your name at OVSB this year...
