Navionics App vs Chip

Post by Bass assassin »

Hey all,

I'm in the process of upgrading my electronics. Trying to decide on whether I need the navionics chip or not. If not, I can get a DI machine and use my iPhone for charts.

Is the chip worth it? Or just download the maps first on the phone and head out?

I have both, I find the chip handy since you can use a no hands approach while driving the boat. I have also noticed that the charts on my phone are better then the one on my unit, even after updating the charts. IMO I would get both, the app is super cheap and I find myself looking at it even when not on the water.
