Looking to Apply Spray on flooring

Post by Thrillhouse »

Hi All,
I am look to replace the carpet in my boat with a non-slip spray on liner. Has anyone done this? Any suggestions? Most of the ones I have seen are black, which will not work unless I want to cook my feet.

Thanks

I've never done it, but Linex can pretty much spray any color.

Could also get a thin non-slip rubber mat and paint it, off course not sure how well the paint will hold up. princess auto sells 4ft wide rolls in any length you want

I painted mine with Interlux Brightside, added some flattening agent to take the glare off,
and also some Intergrip silica sand so it isn't slippery, throw in some hardening agent and
you're good to go!!  8) 8)

Cyber,
What hardening agent did you use? What primer? Any tips?
Thanks

Can't remember the name of it offhand, got it from Benson's Auto Parts
on Stafford road. As far as primer, previous owner had already painted
it with one of those paints meant for decks, but the dirty white/yellow
colour didn't suit me at all, and there were only 3 or 4 equally ugly colours
available in any "deck coat" product, hence the reason I created my own.

I wouldn't use anything like Line-x. It'll be expensive and too hard to work with. There's different types of textured deck over paints available that are made for wood. They should work and they come in different colours. Home Depot and Home Hardware has it, I'm sure there's others.

Let us know how you make out. I'll be looking to replace my vinyl in a year or two.
