What's latest consensus on best map system for ON/QC?

Post by littleking7 »

I've been doing a lot of research on this as I try to figure out which brand of fishfinder I want to go with while balancing the capabilities I want. So wondering if anyone here can boil it down/have some thoughts on this?

What I want in whatever mapping system I go with:

- Ability to chart/contour new maps
- Have good coverage of Quebec (especially remote lakes and Gatineau River)
- Ability to highlight depth ranges
- Community-added/built lake maps

So, I'm debating whether to go with...

- Lowrance with built-in C-MAP, which from talking with support seems they meet my criteria above, they also 'claim' to have more Canada lakes than Navionics..
- Humminbird with Lakemaster, which I believe meets most of my criteria above but I know less about this one.
- Whichever brand with a Navionics card, but not sure if you can do depth range highlighting or chart new lakes with this?..

Thanks all,
Ryan
