I was transferring gas

Post by cascun »

I was transferring gas from one of my tanks to the other yesterday and noticed a small amount of dirt when the tank was finally empty   . I had some motor troubles(stalling) last week at Quinte and wondered if this maybe was the problem.

When at Quinte I later switched tanks and the motor seemed to run better.

Any thoughts as I'm no mechanical expert.Others have suggested it might have been water in the gas.

Your motor has a fuel filter which should be replaced periodically. It's not difficult. Look for a video on Youtube. I recommend using only fresh, high octane gas. If it's older than 2 or 3 months put it in your car. If your tank has debris in it, dump the remaining gas or use it in a lawn mower. Rinse the tank out thoroughly and let it air dry before using it for gas again.
