i don't understand the "no need for an operators card"

i live in Lindsay, and this one guy on Sturgeon Lake told me the same thing, no need for a card. i'm like :?: :?:

can you explain that, is it because these boats don't qualify for the card....??

thanks

Hi,

The regs allow for three types of certification for operators. One is a proof of competency from a recognized body (such as Power Squadron training etc) two is a Boat Operators Card and third is a detailed and signed rental agreement which covers the safe operation of a vessel and all safety equipment.

Not all rental places accept the above. I have heard of some requiring an operators card to rent.

Hope this helps!

Yves
