Fly Swap #1 - Favorite Trout Streamer

Are you a fly fisherman who like to swap flies with others? This idea was brought to my attention a little while back and I think we should give it a try.

Guys,

All of the flies were mailed out on Saturday (Dec 15th).

JVE & Beachburger,

I'll bring your flies along to fly tying on Tuesday. If you're not going to be able to make it, we can make other arrangements.

Cheers,
Todd

Thanks for the flies everyone. Thanks for hosting it too Todd, Don't know if I can afford to do another one with the 18$ shipping fees I was charged by Canada Post :? . I cannot wait to try them this summer....cabin fever has hit me
I have one question for Todd- The psycedilic P-quad...is it primarily used in Rivers or Lakes? Great tie, ill whip a few up this X-mas break.

I was hit hard by Canada Post on the delivery too (not $18 though). They said it would be $6 bucks to ship the envelop back to me but I see Todd put alot less than that on (and send the stamps back). Who can figure Canada Post?

Mike,

Hmmm...$18 sounds a little off to me. Express post for a simple bubble pack that eveyone used should have only been in the $5 range. Since the swaps are relatively local you might even consider regular mail. I'm sure a package can make it anywhere in eastern Ontario within 5 business days.

The P-Quad was designed as a stillwater pattern, but I've fished it occasionally in rivers as well. I'll post the recipe this evening. If anyone wants the recipes for the other P-Quad variations just let me know.

Cheers,

Dennis,

Well you can at least afford 5 days to receive your flies. Submitting them...well that's another matter. LOL

Hi Guys,

The flies look great :D. I'm looking forward to fishing them in the spring. It's always interesting to see what others are using.

As for my fly, it's works well for both brook trout and brown trout. For brook trout in lakes I'd tied it in a #6-10. For brown trout in rivers I'd tied it in a #2-6.

Cheers,

Salar.

Todd,

Its the submitting part that concerns me.

Salar,

Thanks for the fly. I was looking at this one a while back and sort of forgot about it. I'll be anxious to try it out.

The flies finnaly reached Carleton Place today. Flies look great and will surely fool a few trout next summer.

Todd thank you very much for organizing and doing all the leg work.
