Looking for Secluded Walleye Lake

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Looking for Secluded Walleye Lake

Post by fromdanort »

I'm looking for a good walleye lake in the general Ottawa region, either in Ontario, or Quebec. We are a bunch of guys going out fishing, and we would like to find a good lake with plenty of walleye, that is secluded enough so we can set up camp for a few days. We don't mind traveling for up to 5 hours to find such a lake. Any ideas?

What month are you thinking about? July fishing in La Verendrye Park can be awesome and there are many lakes off the beaten track for you to make camp at. Certainly accessible within your 5 hr. travel window.

Big Poplar Lake (accessed via Aumond Creek, near Deux Rivieres, ON) has a good write up in the Algonquin Backroad Mapbook.
