Anyone fish Lake Clear ????

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Hi there fished there last weekend, very slow bite.Ended up the weekend with a couple of smallies 3 to 4 lb range caught on a white tube in about 3 ft of water at 6 in the morning after I watched them foraging for crayfish for about a half hour before throwing a tube at em they just gobbled em up.Also got a few walleyes one measured in at 21 inches the others at 15 and 18 also a 26inch sucker. All got slow trolling with a bottom bouncer tipped with a leach. We got nothing on jigs except rockbass and a few little smallies.Everything we caught was on rockpiles or shoals around the islands. We saw lots of suspended schools around 10 to 15ft over 40ft of water but nothing hitting. They were all released except for the big wally he was dinner yum yum.Hope this helps have fun

The rocky areas around the islands are the only place that I've had much luck around there also.

Nice lake!

Hey BigFish,
Was there the week of Canada Day. Caught one 3lb. smallie and a 22" walleye. That was it. The bite didn't seem to be on. The locals were not getting much either. Saw a pic of a guy who caught an 11 lb. walleye on may 15th this year and also a pic of another guy who caught an 18 lb pike. There's nice fish in the lake. Like goudieb says, the best spots are around the rocky points and sholes in the lake. Caught a few small largemouths in Little Clear also. Good Luck!

If you launch your boat at Opeongo resort...right in the bay..look for the white house on the hill on the right(highest house)...find 15 feet depth and troll to the oposite side..look for the stone wall on the left side. Troll this back and fourth with a diver and you WILL hit Walleye.
Also if you launch at Opeongo there is a little island with on little A frame cottage on it...the bottom is all rocks..There is LARGE bass there!
These spots have been good for us, hope they are good for you!
Cheers'

The resort is really nice. Good cotages, but a great place to camp too. Boat rentals aren't too expensive there either. Really great atmosphere for kids too.
