Re: BIG BASS MEGABUCKS
If I can remember correctly the biggest fish of the event last year was caught minutes from the launch. The beauty is your fishing for one big fish, which Big Rideau lake is full of. Everyone has a chance!
Looking forward to this years BBMB

Since I was the net-man on that particular fish... I'll just say "maybe, maybe not".Tip-up wrote:If I can remember correctly the biggest fish of the event last year was caught minutes from the launch.

I was told that I could do well in this type of tournament.
I only have to catch one fish.
Team 28 will be there.

Sounds like a great event, I sure won't schedule a last minute event on that date.

Re: BIG BASS MEGABUCKS
I'm planning on being there, my fishing partner had a major dirt bike/ ATV Accident.. He's alive but hurt badly...
He's got time to heal though.. I have time to jimmy rig some kind of pole that I can tape him to zip tie a drop shot rod to his arm or something..

... think a canoe would be able to get anywhere in time?
...on a more serious note how does a tourny like this work? You bring a fish back ever hour? or just when you think you have the big one?

Yes to both Michael. If you dont bring one in every hour in my opinion you are leaving the door open. If no one catches a fish that hour and you have a 13" smallie or something it was the biggest fish of that hour. If you thought oh well it is too small then you just tossed $1000 back into the drink!!
Just my thought on it.
Fishing isn't a matter of life and death....
It's much more important.

Re: BIG BASS MEGABUCKS
You would be wasting your time bringing in a fish every hour. Trust me, someone is always catching a fish...
4 plus pounders every hour last year to win the hour was needed. The last hour I think we had 6 4 plus lb fish weighed.
We worked really hard last year to keep the guys in the loop as fish were weighed in via text. No sense running back to weigh in with a 3.5 if you've been told there's bigger fish already weighed in.
Registration starts tomorrow am! Lots of buzz going on about it.

Well no one mentioned texts...lol. That changes the whole ball game yes. If the texts are going out then you should be able to figure out if you need to bring a fish in or not. Good idea there RJ. Keeps less traffic at the weigh in and more fish back in the drink.
