Spoons
Re: Spoons
I don't know anything about salmon.
My go to for lakers are the little cleo hammered spoons; blue+silver or orange+gold.
I'm very curious to see what others suggest!

Re: Spoons
A classic for on the Great Lakes is a Northern King 28 ( NK-28 ) in watermelon.
Northern King may be out of business ?
Another fav. of mine is a Moonshine 5" Mag." in "Psycho".
There's so many out there and colour selection can be overwhelming.
Many are multi colour, so suggest some greens, blues, purples and orange ones.
That's what is fun with multiply rods out, finding what's working.
Here's a yak steelie on a watermelon NK-28 ( July 2013 )

Re: Spoons
Northern king spoons were sold at Ctire last time I looked for them. My favorite colour is monkey puke......for on the ottawa though, not lakers.
Re: Spoons
For Lakers, Williams Warbler, Lucky Strike Canoe spoon, Mooselook warbler and the Sutton West River if you can find one. I'm partial to silver and silver/blue for a start. I must admit though that most of my Laker trolling is done with a #1 Big Hammer gang troll and a minnow behind on a leader. Either with lead core or copper, but many of my buds use them off a rigger. Some guys will run the gang troll right off the ball instead of inline.

Re: Spoons
When it comes to spoons it's hard to beat the NK-28's
Re: Spoons
For lakers, my go to spoon is a Mepps Syclops, match the colour to baitfish. Good to start with silver, white or perch.
For mid summer lakers down deep or near bottom I have had success slow trolling a Spin and Glo tipped with minnow tail, or worm, or piece of chicken skin... tied about 3 feet behind a dodger. It works and it gets snagged a bit less than a full gang troll.

Re: Spoons
Sunfish or Perch tails can work pretty good at times on the leader instead of a minnow. They always tend to track nicely and last quite a while.

Re: Spoons
Nk's, Big Erns, Dreamweavers and Stingers always make the way into the rotation on the big lake for Lakers or Salmon.

Re: Spoons
Williams, NK's, Suttons, Cleos, Mooselooks and DareDevle Husky JR & SR's for lakers.
Colors can be all over the map James. Inland it's hard to beat Suttons & Mooselooks... Cleos for casting. Big Ontario Lakes Williams & NK's. Big Northern Canada Lake's the huge DareDevles and again, Cleos for casting.
