Stolen Lund 1675 CP Marine

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

This might not be the right spot for this but I figured it's the busiest board on here.
My girlfriend just saw this on facebook and sent it over to me so I thought I'd pass it along here.

That is sickening, Blake don't deserve this. He is a really good lad and I would recommend

him to anybody. His brand is Yamaha and it speaks for itself, there is nothing better imho...

While the rest of us are busting our asses at work these low lifes are planning there next scheme...

To me there is nothing lower than a thief!!!

Only thing I'd add to that, is that I agree 100%. Blake, Todd, Shawn (when he was there), the crew in the back, these guys are all top-notch. They'll get it sorted out I hope.

This is just wrong man!!

I have a feeling that perhaps a "ring" of thieves are from there or hit this area often because a few years ago I heard of another guy who lives in that area who had his Nitro bass boat stolen right out of his driveway. They took his 250 hp motor off the boat and left the boat in a field only a few KM from his home.

Obviously you don't take off a 250 hp engine off a boat by one person, so I'm suspecting there is more to this than meets the eye.

I travel a lot so I will keep an eye open.

Not that I disagree with you Punch but could you explain this a bit? Some people might not understand why you have said this if it is the reason I think you said it.

The way that I took it was that even though insurance will cover the money lost from the boat. With that claim Blake's premiums will go up which in all likelihood will need to be passed on to us, the customers.

That is what I was hoping was his view on that. I agree 100% and as an insurance guy it sucks for someone like Blake who is making an actual claim. We had someone a few years ago call in with a stolen boat and we paid out for it. About a year later I saw that same boat on the lake with the client who said it was stolen. As I could not prove it wasnt a replacement I could not do anything about it. This crap happens all the time and in the end it is the honest people who pay for it. Yes we seem to increase insurance costs all the time but when people try to rip off the inaurance companies that is what we have to do to get that money back. Same as with any other company increasing costs due to increase in gas prices, hydro etc. the buck is always passed back to the consumer. Look at the auto ring in Toronto that just got busted. There were over 100 people involved in it and it included fake Dr's, physio clinics etc. A group of people would create a traffic accident and claim they were injured thru the insurance company. Then they would go to these " Doctors" etc to get help and in turn they would scam the insurance company for millions in dollars. It is sad but that is also the world we live in now.

Now back to Blake's issues. If anyone is chatting with him and he needs any help with the claims side I would be happy to give him some suggestions to make it less painful.

Theft is bad and wrong, but I don't exactly have any sympathy for insurance companies. You're talking about consistently the highest-profit companies in Canada, along with the banks, always rounding out the top 10, year in and year out. The price increases are way higher than covering the abusers and scammers of insurance companies. It's the parasitic way they operate, and it's not worth trying to justify it by saying it's because they get scammed. That's like pharmaceuticals claiming they charge so much for pills because of R&D (which is 11% of their costs, advertising is more than double) or that McDonald's and Timmy's raise the price of their products to make up for higher minimum wage (increases were more than what covered Ontario's incremental min wage increases).

Theft is horribly wrong, but not far from standard business practices of the largest companies.
