Wolfe feeling Sheepish for Long Overdue Post!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Wolfe feeling Sheepish for Long Overdue Post!

Post by wolfe »

It's been a long time since I've posted a report, but I'm still kicking around and getting out on the water as time allows. The fishing action has been decent and mostly consistent on Wolfe Lake, but sizes for me are generally lackluster with the exception of a few solid fish. Spinnerbaits and large profile plastics seem to take the most fish. Frog action hadn't quite heated up as of last week...looking forward to trying them again the next outing.

Here are a some recent fishing pics. You'll see a recurring theme: most of the fish are generally unimpressive and my dogs are chronic photo bombers.

Hello to all my old chums on FH! I hope you are all doing well and enjoying a great summer and some hot fishing. :D

Cheers from "Wolfe and the Pack"

SO FUNNY THE WAY THIS LITTLE SMALLMOUTH'S ANAL FIN MAKES BLAISE'S NOSE LOOK ENORMOUS!

BLAISE IS VERY GENTLE WITH THE FISH....MICAH WOULD LIKE TO EAT THEM ALL.

Hey Maverick - they are both mixed breeds and rescues. The larger one is older, a half yellow lab, half staffordshire; very smart. The younger one is also staffordshire mixed, but we don't know with what else; she's small. Her first owner never allowed her outside of a plastic kennel crate. She was seized at 6 months, placed in a shelter and won the doggie lottery at her adoption when I found her there a short time later. They are both absolute fishing fiends and zip over when they hear a hook set / drag peel.

Your dogs are really awesome. Kudos to you for also being awesome by extension for being a) a great angler posting on Fish-Hawk and b) rescuing those awesome dogs from an otherwise bad life. Good on you dude.

One of these summers Margie I'll maybe be around long enough to visit out that way. You're making the best of what I hear is a hot summer weather wise. Hope the boys are all finding the time to fish as well, and nice to see a report from you. 8)

Brad and 'Bunk - Well, Ty, aka "the Torpedo " is a fishing dynamo and has a natural instinct for it. He is definitely surpassing me and I'm proud of that, though we throw down the gauntlet for each other and have some competitive thing going! Shane, "Devil Loon" has sadly lost his love affair with the lake life and at 14 is a skateboard nut. I hope he'll come back to fishing and an interest in nature. Both boys like to have friends up and they also waterski and wakeboard.

I think Ty will be putting up his own report and pics at summers end so I didn't want to use his photos. So stay tuned on that.

'Bunk, one day we'll meet up.....don't know where the time goes, especially summer.

Thanks for the really kind words Outdoor Action Ontario. I love my dogs and can't imagine life without them. Rescues make the best canine companions! No pet store dogs for me.
