wet wading

Post by swampsinger »

I normally wear "lanark pajamas" under the waders, I don't like the clamie feeling of waders on bare legs. In no time the weather will be hot and I'll switch to free wading. I would still like to use my wading boots, for the support and traction. Just wondering if there any tricks for fit and gravel gaurd. I supose I could Red Green it and use extra wool socks and duct tape.

sorry found all kinds of info once I started calling it wet wading.

I know Simms, Orvis and Patagonia make wading socks with an integrated gravel guard. The inexpensive option is to pick up a pair of neoprene paddling socks from MEC or any popular outdoor shop.

Try full leg under armour. I wear it under my work pants… for hockey… and with my hip waders. Keeps sweat away and keeps ya cool/warm and dry like a self contained climate controller 😉
