I look forward to this thread every year..

Thanks for sharing Mark and congrats on the success today.

I'm sure we will see a few more bears in this thread before the season is over. ;-)

Nice huge bear for Tim... and that garbage can with legs for Roger  Takes balls to hunt bear with a traditional bow.
Congrats on your fine bear too Markus, it will be the best eating.

Wow, big congrats to Roger on that huge sow. My largest bear (my avatar) we guessed 325-350 and it doesn't compare to that fat porker. I'm nervous enough shooting a rifle for bear, I can't imagine shooting a stick and keeping steady. Way to go. You'll have tons of bear oil out of that one. Lots of ground and sausage meat too.

Nice looking bear for you too Markus. Line Len said, that will be a great eating critter.

Cheers

I get antsy reaching into the net to pull a big muskie out. Can't image standing close enough to a bear to put an arrow into it. Well done!

Thanks guys. Of all the hunting we do, bear hunting is my favorite. It's not the hardest, but there's just something about seeing bears. It really gets my blood pumpin.

I just finished up the last 3 skulls and have them drying on the deck.

We butchering our bears tonight, plus my uncle is on stand for a hunt so we'l be on call too if he needs us.

Another long night!

What a hog we hauled out tonight.

My uncle had his son with him tonight and wanted to help get him his first bear. They hunted Wed afternoon, but didnt see anything. Last night they got out or a 2nd hunt and at last light a huge boar appeared. My little cousin Keaton made a great shot on it and dumped it right were it stood. What a bear.

This is a legit giant. It very well may be the largest bear taken this season across the province.

So happy for my uncle and little cousin. What a hunt.

Wow, can't get much better than that. What a first bear. I bet it'll take a long time before that smile goes away.
Any other pics? That one doesn't seem to show the actual size that well.

Smitty, i wish we had more pics, but when it comes to big bears, they dont move around easily. lol That pic is taken right where the bear fell. The only other pic I have is one i snapped after I knocked the bark off him.

An incredible season so far, and now this massive bruin added to the tally. The background information you provided over the years is great, and rare.
Nice to have the full picture and share not only the dividends but also the investment of work. time and planning.

The comaraderie and sharing of the hunts with friends and family is fantastic. Wow, congrats to all.

Unbelievable.
Where are you hunting, Ontario, out east?
This is my first year targeting bears and I honestly think I would crap myself if that thing walked out to me.
Thanks for sharing your hunt with us. Everyday I come to this feed to see what has happened next.
Congrats again.

Hammer, we're hunting near my home and camp out east. I do al my fishing in ON in the spring, but my hunting is all out east.

We still have a few hunters hard at it. We shut down 3 sites yesterday because of the bait shortage. Hopefully a few more bear tags filled yet. I have a very special guestcoming this thursday for friday and saturday hunt and i'm excited about that.

Hmmm, if I recall correctly from last year my guess would be that a certain gal is going to get her first crack at bear hunting. Here's hoping she gets to fill a tag and experience the thrill of shooting a bear. Good luck.
