small lakes and ponds

Post by swampsinger »

What is the best way to access the small put and take bush lakes in zones 11, 15, 18? I would guess they are intended to be accessed by snowmobile for ice fishing. I would like to try fly fishing these lakes during the open water season.

Depends how remote you want. There are some accessible by car, even more accessible with 4x4 truck, easpecially smaller ones like a ranger or frontier etc. and then there are the ones that require an atv or snowmobile. Scully and shiner in calabogie are right off the paved road, one has specs other bows. Other lakes like st.pierre and stubinski are right by the road too and they have specs. The harder to access the better the fishing, for the most part. The fish online tool helps out with the search.
